On the medication not covered by social services front: I got prescribed one of those once but you can ask the doc to prescribe somehting else instead that is covered under the drug card schedule... and if that drug doesn't work properly they can get you the initial prescription. They never tell people this, though, but it's there likley to protect the province from wrongful death/manslaughter suits!
