Well, the job that I had an opportunity at seems to have evaporated. :-(

But I did apply to another company that actually does geological work. That would be fascinating for me, because if things had been slightly different in my life, I would have gone into Geology. As well, it wouldn't be working for the Government, as I suspect that Harper will do every thing he can to "downsize" the government, and the newest hires would probably go first.

My friend [livejournal.com profile] pheloniusfriar posted about the idea of calling the new regime in Parliament, "Harper's Privateers", but failed to create the lyrics to the song...so, I've been taken the opportunity to put some down, it's just a start...but feel free to suggest changes or additions! Remember, this *is* Filk!

Harper's Privateers
(To the tune of Barrett's Privateers by Stan Rogers)

Oh the year was just two thousand and six
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now!
A philosophy came from the States
To the scariest party I've ever seen

God Damn them All! I was told
We'd cruise to power on American gold!
We'd fire everyone one, shed no tears
Now I' a broken MP in the backbench tier
The last of Harper's Privateers

Oh, Harper's cronies cried The House
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now!
For a member or two to secure their base
And to get in the liberal's face...

God Damn them All! I was told
We'd cruise to power on American gold!
We'd fire everyone one, shed no tears
Now I' a broken MP in the backbench tier
The last of Harper's Privateers

The conservative caucus was a sickeing site
How I wish I was in Sherbrooke now!
