You can see the post and the comments here. Now all we need is an "Alice's Restaurant" filk to round out the "longest filks about LJ" collection!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] bleaknimue for the link!

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember how
Our LJs used to make us smile.
And I knew if Brad had his chance,
That he could make those servers dance,
And maybe we'd be blogging for a while.

But InterNap made LJ shiver,
There were no pages to deliver,
No gossip on our browsers
About who lost their trousers...

I can't remember if I cried
When I saw my page request denied
But I had to face the world outside,
The day that LJ died.

So...
Bye bye to the power supply
'Where's my LJ?' 'Oh, my LJ!' was the worldwide cry
And even Brad left a slashdot reply
Saying 'We'll get a UPS stand by!'
'We'll get a UPS stand by!'

Did you write the gossip down,
And did you spread it around the town?
Was a text message enough?
Do you believe in Live Journal?
Can Brad find power that's external?
Or will the next few days be real rough?

Well I know that you've been on DJ,
'Cause I heard you'd posted anyway.
You thought it would slip through,
But I read that friends list too!

I was a lonely teenage baby goth
With a black carnation and a smokers' cough
but I was even more pissed off
The day that LJ died

I started singin'...

Bye bye to the power supply
'Where's my LJ?' 'Oh, my LJ!' was the worldwide cry
And even Brad left a slashdot reply
Saying 'We'll get a UPS stand by!'
'We'll get a UPS stand by!'

Now for 10 hours we've been on our own
And I'll have to charge my mobile phone
But that's not how it used to be

When the monkeys could not save the site
And Brad's team had to work all night
To give LJ back to you and me

And while the site was being down
There was silence all around
All posting was adjourned
No gossip was returned

While none of us could post a snark
From New Zealand to Belsize Park
We all sang dirges in the dark
The day that LJ died

We were singin'

Bye bye to the power supply
'Where's my LJ?' 'Oh, my LJ!' was the worldwide cry
And even Brad left a slashdot reply
Saying 'We'll get a UPS stand by!'
'We'll get a UPS stand by!'

But InterNap began to teeter
They needed money for the meter
The power was failing fast

They tried to save it but alas
They slipped and fell upon their ass
While Brad was looking more and more harassed

Now we're all waiting to resume
Sunk as we are in deepest gloom
We're waiting in a trace
To post when we have a chance

'Cause when our friends lists are revealed,
The servers may not take the yield.

What we posted was concealed,
The day that LJ died.
We started singing

Bye bye to the power supply
'Where's my LJ?' 'Oh, my LJ!' was the worldwide cry
And even Brad left a slashdot reply
Saying 'We'll get a UPS stand by!'
'We'll get a UPS stand by!'

Here we are, without disk space,
To someone else belongs our base
Don't make us start our lives again
So come on Brad be nimble, Brad be quick
BradFitz do a magic trick
'Cause power ain't the servers' only friend.

As I refreshed the status page
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
No one at all to tell
About my private hell

And as Brad's team worked into the night
To save each bit and every byte
We knew they'd work to save the site
the day that LJ died.

I went out to buy lots of booze
And I tried to kill time with a snooze
But still the site had gone away

I tried again, but no -- I swore
Without LJ, life's such a bore
And I wondered if the others felt this way

And in the forums, bloggers screamed,
Cursed everyone they'd once esteemed
For they were all heartbroken:
The servers all were broken

And the web team I admire most,
With the web site that they do host,
They did their best to let us post
The day that LJ died

They were singin'

Bye bye to the power supply
'Where's my LJ?' 'Oh, my LJ!' was the worldwide cry
And even Brad left a slashdot reply
Saying 'We'll get a UPS stand by!'
'We'll get a UPS stand by!'

Sure, that would be great! Were you going to mail me a cd, or is it something i can download?

You also mentioned a web-hosting site, that wouldn't cost me $35/year... I'm interested in more info on that.
