Time and Tide

Well, with any luck, I will be off to visit family in the NYC vacinity this comming Friday. I'm going to be heading up the coast, taking my time and secondary roads. I expect to the in Yonkers by the Sunday, and I will be hitting WiFi hotspots along the way to try and stay in touch.

And I really need this vacation! Work has been nasty...my boss is (at very least) bi-polar, has an inferiority complex a mile wide, and it was probably caused by his parents, whom he now works for. He used to go "non-linear" about once every 3-4 months, and it would only be for a day...but lately, his "bosses" have been putting him under a lot of pressure, which combined with the fact that he just got divorced (which his parent's don't approve of either, and harras him for that too.), means that he has been going non-linear almost weekly. And the thing is, this entire company rests upon my boss. He is the only person who can program in PICK to a professional level, and knows the application inside and out. His father and one other person can do fiddly bits, but they don't come close to my boss.

So, this puts stress on me...I am now taking medication for high blood pressure. Now, most of you who know me well know how laid back I am...but it has gotten to the point where my job is affecting my health...so between that, and a number of other things, I am looking for a job...preferably around here, but I am also looking in the greater New York area. If there is a chance for a job interview while I am in the NYC area, I will go to it. Also, if you read my journal and are in the area, please let me know, and maybe we can get together and chat. I will be looking for Wi-Fi access points to use, so you can lure me out to a coffee house or something that has Wi-Fi, and we can sit and chat, and I can check my email and such.

While I am gone, I will have a few people dropping in to my place to give it a lived in look. They also get access to my huge library of DVDs, Video tapes and CDs...although the biggest collection is my self-recorded videos...I have over a hundred of them mostly recorded at 6 hour speed. And they have everything from movies, to music videos (probably the majority), and stuff.

I will also be setting up a WebCam to watch my place with, which will be recorded elsewhere, so If anyone does anything rude in my living room, I will be publishing it on the internet . But otherwise, I'll just archive the video until I get back, then delete it.

So, hopefully, this vacation will give me some time to relax, do some reading, and get my stress level down...way down.
