Well, I am actually getting things done!!!

First, I compromised my ethics, slightly, and actually bought something at Walmart. I got a $10 oil change. You can't buy the oil and filter for that much! I am sure it's a "lost leader" for them, considering the sales job I got when I first pulled up...but I really needed an oil change.

I then went to PepBoys and got a new Air Filter to put into my car, as It hasn't been done as long as I have owned it, and I hope it will help with my city mileage. It seems that air filters for the Caravan are really popular, as there were none on the shelf, the sales guy had to go back and get one of their OEM version air filters. I did find an interesting difference between standard air filters and "performance" air filters. A standard one costs about $5, a performance one costs $40! I don't know if would make a real difference to get the performance one...will have to do some research on it..but for now, I hope just a new one will help.

Finally, I got some envelopes so that I can send back some of the DVDs from the DVD club, and get money back, ship Celka's book to her, and mail in the Phone rebate.

But that was yesterday....we will see about today, I should get that electric bill paid, and then change the air filter.

Well, I first of all ended up at the CNN site, to see what was happeneing with Howard Stern, after catching the tail end of something on CNN...which lead me to HowardStern.com, where I found out that he has found replacment stations in the 9 markets where Clear Channel had dumped him. But what was more interesting was that I found a few links on Stern's site, one which is very, very funny!

It is a Flash animation series called "Republican Survivor", and it is a takeoff of the Survivor Series. It's kinda hard to describe the animantion series...but your best bet is to go and see for yourself here: http://www.dtriptv.com/watch.aspx

Have fun!

Well, this is the first time I have actually dug into my current vehicle...and I changed the Air Filter. Not complicated, but a pain because you have to remove a major piece of plastic to get to the air filter. And that included wrestling with hoses, hose clamps, and such. Add to that it is about 90%, and I was sweating bucket's by the time I finished.

As well, I have offically consecrated my car, as I managed to cut my left thumb in two places, and bled all over the engine and various other places under the hood. Just minor cuts, but they bled well.

So, hopefully between the new air filter, oil change, and consecration, my van will run better and get better gas milage in town.

Well, I went and drove for an hour, part highway, part city, to test the new air filter.

I travelled a 102.8 miles, and used less than an eighth of an tank! Now, admittedly, that was from a topped up tank. There is always a little bit of extra in a gas tank when it is fully filled to the point where the gas pump shuts it self off. As soon as it gets down to an eighth, I will reset the trip odometer, and see what I get for the next quarter tank. That should be a more accurate representation of things.

Or maybe it was just the blood that I consecrated the engine with...
