I have just been so busy since Worldcon. Work has been hectic, life after work has been similar, and I had a guest crash at my place over the weekend, totally blowing away the plans I did have, like cleaning (Don't laugh! I actually do do some cleaning in this place), had a lot of fun playing with a pair of turntables, and finally got the drivers in my big PA speakers fixed...now I need an Amp that will power them!
I did splurge on a couple of things, I bought a thing called an "airsynth" which is sort of an optical theramin, which is a lot of fun; a drum machine, which I got for less than half price off, and a "spacial sound separator, which takes a stereo input, and "synthesizes" 5 channels from it.
Thus is probably the best place to state that I am going to be putting together a band...It might be Schrodinger's Cat, (in it's "Alive" eigenstate), or something else. I am mainly going to concentrate on playing guitar, and some stuff like the old Casio SK-1 I have, many of these instruments and synths are virtually worthless, but they still make sounds, and I can record them to make music. The person with the turntables also plays bass, and our Friar here is moving down, and hopefully will be able to take part in the project. I wanna make music, and I have had lots of ideas that I need to get a mini-casette deck to get them down before I forget them. The AirSynth, along with the drum machine and my guitar should be able to make some decent sounds to record and make music with. I don't have a lot of money to spend on musical instruments at the moment, but I think I have enough right now to do some stuff...maybe this weekend I might do some covers tunes, songs I know so well I use them as practices and warmups...and I need to play more guitar, and regularly. And the drum machine is really sweet. I expect to have a lot of fun with it, esp since I can both feed the AirSynth into the drum machine for samples, or "modify" the sounds comming out of the drum machine with the AirSynth.
Well, it's after 11, and I should trundle off to bed...good night!
