Well, the did the dirty deed this morning.

They fired me for all the reasons that my doctors said are classic symptoms of severe depression. This is *after* I presented the note from the doctor explaining this. So, I went to my doctor who is acting as my unofficial counselor, and he agreed that the two things I need to do right now is apply for Unemplyment Insurance benefits, and find a lawyer.

I'm going to go and have some lunch, then hit the unemployment office, come back home and start calling lawyers.

I'm angry that they ignored the advice of the doctor, but I am happy to be out of that Hell Hole!

So, I'm off, and will let everyone know what happens...

I completely agree. You have a case for a wrongful termination suit under the ADA. *Especially* because it was after you notified them of it.

*hugs* Seems like a mixed blessing in disguise, a bit. I know you were so pleased to have a steady long-term job. The lawyer thing can't hurt - also in Canada you can consult the labour board, maybe the US has something similar. I met a labour-board councellor for half an hour after getting laid off from SiGEM, and found out they were under-paying our severence and pulling our benefits too early - it got me a lot more out of the company.
