New Cell Phone

Well, I needed a cell phone, and prefer a "pay for play" type system, so after a lot of research, I ended up with Virgin Mobile. It is the cheapest, and most liberal with their costs and how long before your bought time expires. Add to that, they now have a special on where if you buy the phone and two accessories, you get a $50 rebate. As the phone I got cost $79, and the "top up" card cost $20 and the case was $15, it all really cost just $64. They also have a phone that costs $59...Air time is $0.25 for the first 10 minutes each day, and then $0.10 each additional minutes. No roaming charges, and no long distance in the US. But it has some snazzy features, like polyphonic ringtones. Basically, it's a small MIDI file that you download to your phone...but in this ultra-charge-for-everything world, you need to pay $2 to download it as a royalty to the composer. After shopping around on the list of ringtones they have on the Virgin site, I listened to a number, and eventually chose one...the Peter Gunn Theme. And comming out of the phone, it sounds just like the old Spy Hunter game...ah..nostolgia...
