Just hanging around...

Well, there has been lots of different crazes in the current day Body-Mod culture...It started with Tattoos, then Piercings, then multiple piercings, branding and scarification, trephenation, and now....hanging around at the beach from meat hooks.

According to an article on CNN, a coast guard crew was surpised and alarmed to see a woman dangling from a bamboo tripod with meathooks holding her firmly off the ground. As no laws were being broken, there wasn't much they could do, as the person seemed to be enjoying it. Personally, it's not something I would do, as I have problems when metal is touching my skin....I can't wear watches, or things around my neck anymore. But as long as they were using sunscreen, I don't see a probablem with it. And it would certainly the sand out of your bathingsuit!

The one that always got to me was the split tongues...I know a bartender who has the split tongue and a tongue piercing on each part that he can wiggle independently. 0_o

I don't know anyone with that body mod, but part of the group of people I used to know via Fidonet were muchly into the body mod thing, including one person who was a professional piercer. Flying must be hard these days for people with piercings in multiple places...

I have a friend who she says used to wake each morning saying "I need to pierce something!" She's got 7 (that I can see) and she would tell me how she would have to take each one out and replace them with fishing line whenever she knew she was going somewhere with metal detectors.
