Everyone is constantly hearing how close the vote is this year...but that is not totally true. Much as we would like to think that who the majority of voters vote for should win, the 2000 Presidential Election showed us differently. Despite this, the media is only reporting on the popular vote, again, when what really counts is the Electoral Vote count.

To solve this problem, a person who goes by the name "The Votemaster" has set up a web site called Current Electorial Vote Predictor. Votemaster searches out the current State polls for president, and then uses that to predict if that State will be a Republican or Democratic State in it's Electoral Votes. And they also keep a running track of this which you can download...W00T, Open Sourced Data!!! They also have a nice interactive map.

The site also does analysis of the data to predict who will win, and recently, they also started tracking the State Senate races too. A facinating site if you are interested in this year's electoin! But we should also note one thing about the current polling system...it only survey's "likely voters", which means people who voted in the last election. Michael Moore points out that many people will be voting in this election that didn't in the last, and that has the potential to totally skew the results. All I can say is get out and vote, 'cuz letting less than half of the voters determine something that is as important as this election is borders on the insane.
