Thank the Gods for Internet Radio!!!!!!
I just ran across a new band that I *must* get their CD, the band is called Balligomingo, and they have one album out, called "Beneath the Surface", with a new album comming out soon. You heard it here first! (I hope!)
They are very close, sound wise, to Delerium. Although the music is composed by the person behind the project, Garrett Schwarz, it has a number of female vocalists, including Derlium's Kristy Thirsk, and it is co-produced by Bill Leeb & Chris Peterson, of Derlium/Front Line Assembly. Although the arist is listed as being California Based, all the vocalists on "Beneath..." are Canadians! To be exact:
Beverly Staunton "Falling" "Beyond" "Marooned" "Lust"
Jennifer Baldwin "Wild Butterfly"
Colleen Coadic "Escape" "Being"
Jennifer Hershman "Sweet Allure"
Camille Miller "Lost"
Jody Quine "Purify" "Privilege"
Kristy Thirsk "Heat"
I've been listening to the 4 mp3's available at :
http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Balligomingo/
And it is well worth the download if you like Sheila Chandra, Sarah McLauchlan, Kate Bush and Delerium.
This new band certainly gets two thumbs up...they are on Windham Hill, of all labels!
