Just playing with Windows for a while...

It has taken me the better part of 5 hours to install and configure Windows XP, and I am still not finished setting it up! Ugh! Can those few games I can't run under WineX really be worth all this effort?!?!?! Well, I am most of the way there...I hope C&C Generals and Dune Emperor are rally worth all this effort! I could have configured 10 Linux systems in this amount of time..more if I was doing them concurrently!

WindowsXP is rather a bitch to get running (just switched computers and lost about 2-3 days of mail, which is like losing 2-3 days of *LIFE*), but I really think it's pretty well worth it. I rather like it, as it's fairly stable (much better than 98 or ME or 2000).

I like to call it the "Fisher-Price Operating System", though. All those big buttons and pretty primary colours and all.

Do you know about TransGaming? It's a company my friend runs (and my other friends work at). I know *nothing* about it, except that they port games to Linux. Might be only on the corporate level, or it might offer some little program so that your games run on your own system - not sure. You could look into it though.

I do know of Transgaming, and have met Gavriel on a few occasions. Unfortunately, the games I play are not well supported yet. :-(

I also have a subscription to their beta program...maybe, someday, they will run my programs...but I think that more people want to play EverC/r/a/c/k/Quest, and that is where they are focusing their efforts...
