Another week...another...?

Well, I've moved to my new computer, but I am still configuring it - which hard drives to put in it, what Linux kernel to use, updating the ALSA drivers, etc. I did have windows running on it briefly, but have moved that hard drive elsewhere. I may just use another drive for Windows.
I've decided that my enviornment at home is too dusty, and started looking at air cleaner/filters to try and improve the air quality. Most everyone has seen the Ionic Breeze beast from Sharper Image advertised. As with most things, they are not exactly saying what is truth, and what isn't about their product. What what I have read over the past few days, it seems the "Patented" technology might have been patented by Nikolia Telsa, and other related patents to all sorts of other weird and strange things. I'm doing a bit of research on it...quite facinating...
One of the things that I ran across during some research that I though amusing was a "control panel" for each of the genders of the human race:

Anyways, I will post more about it as a get more research done.

Date: 2004-02-28 09:13 pm (UTC)After seeing the "Ionic Breeze" commercial so many times, I began to wonder about their claims. As it involves high-voltage electricity, I was pretty sure that Nikola Tesla had probably worked on it before anyone else.
From my quick overview of the subject, the Ionic Breeze does do what it says it does...sorta...but from a couple of things I read the technology only gets about 5% of the particles...and it produces some Ozone, which basically makes the air smell fresher. So it seems that much of what they say is true, but not to the extent they imply in the commercial. But I hope to get some better information...and maybe write an article about it.
